AFMS

Purpose of the AFMS:

To promote popular interest and education in the various Earth Sciences, and in particular the subjects of Geology, Mineralogy, Paleontology, Lapidary and other related subjects, and to sponsor and provide means of coordinating the work and efforts of all persons and groups interested therein; to sponsor and encourage the formation and international development of Societies and Regional Federations and by and through such means to strive toward greater international good will and fellowship.

The American Federation of Mineralogical Societies is composed of the following seven similar regional organizations of gem, mineral, and lapidary societies.

CFMS - California Federation of Mineralogical Societies
EFMLS - Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies
MWF - Midwest Federation of Mineralogical and Geological Societies
NFMS - Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies
RMFMS - Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies
SCFMS - South Central Federation of Mineral Societies
SFMS - Southeast Federation of Mineralogical Societies

This is the new web site for the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies. We are interested and appreciate any comments that you may have.  All suggestions will be carefully considered.  As this site matures through your support and help, we hope it will become a benefit to the AFMS organization and to those that visit the site.

We are currently trying fill this site with AFMS information.  If you are a AFMS official or member, please send us information that you may have to help us with this site.  Some of the items of interest would be Articles, "How To's", Technical Information, Items of interest to the youth, AFMS information, AFMS history, AFMS club web sites.
