Lewis and Clark:
Rockhounding
on the Way to
the Pacific
In
June 2001, at the AFMS/SCFMS Convention, it was
suggested and approved to create a
traveler's guide to the rocks, minerals, and fossils along the Lewis and Clark
Trail. Thus the AFMS Lewis and Clark Project was
created. After much work from volunteers from all regions of the AFMS
Federation, the project has been completed and can be downloaded for your
enjoyment.

Directions for copying and making a booklet:
The pages in this version of "Lewis and Clark: Rockhounding on the Way to the Pacific" are
in order for duplicating and preparing a 5 1/2 inch by 8 1/2 inch booklet. To
successfully prepare your booklet, follow these directions.
- Copy or print the information presented
on the front and back of 8 1/2 X 11 inch sheets of paper in the order
that the pages are presented in PDF
format. Even though the pages may seem out of order, they will be in the correct
order for cutting and assembling.
- Cut each copied sheet in half.
- Put the
pages in order based on the page number at the bottom of the page. You will see
that the pages can be placed in the correct order for reading.
- Secure the
pages with a clip, staple, or in booklet format.
Alternate directions that folds the pages instead
of cutting. Follow the directions above, but fold
instead of cutting as described below.
- Instead of cutting each of the 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet in half, fold the
pages in half.
- When folding, fold consecutive pages together.
For instance, the pages 1, 2, 3, and 4, should all be printed on the same 8
1/2 x 11 inch sheet. Fold page 2 onto page 3, which should leave pages
1 and 4 as the outside pages. You will notice how the pages are now in
the proper order.
